“Noontime New Year was created to provide families with young children an opportunity to celebrate the New Year together in an environment that fosters cultural awareness and promotes a sense of community,” says Nora Moynihan, Director of Education. “As Baltimore has such a strong and vibrant Italian community in Little Italy and beyond, choosing Italy as our feature country this year was a natural fit. We are grateful to the Italian Cultural Center of Maryland and all our partners who are contributing their time and resources to this special event.”
Port Discovery’s first annual Noontime New Year launched in 1999, and expanded to an international celebration in 2005. Past feature countries include Israel, Greece, and Japan.
Noontime New Year activities run from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and are free with Museum admission. Museum admission is $11.75 for ages 2 and up. Children under 2 and members are free.
