Mayor Sheila Dixon and the citizens of Baltimore unite to celebrate the birth of Reverend Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. with the ninth annual Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. parade. This community-based parade features high school and community marching bands, floats, equestrian units, church choirs and other festive special units. The event steps off at the intersection of Martin Luther King, Jr. Boulevard and Eutaw Street, proceeds south on Martin Luther King, Jr. Boulevard.
