Boston & Styx
Wednesday, August 13
6pm Gates | 7pm Show

Enjoy Boston hits including "More Than a Feeling," "Amanda," "We're Ready," along with classic rock giants, Styx.

Styx still rocks with hits spanning 30 years including “Come Sail Away”, “Too Much time On My Hands, “Renegade”, “Blue Collar Man”, “Lady” and countless more. Styx spawned from a suburban Chicago basement in the early ‘70s and eventually transformed into the virtual arena rock prototype by the late '70s and early '80s. STYX, now Tommy Shaw, James “JY” Young, Lawrence Gowan, Todd Sucherman and Ricky Phillips (along with the occasional surprise appearance by original bassist Chuck Panozzo), have performed more live shows since ’99 than all of the previous years of its career combined. STYX continues to conquer the planet, one venue at a time.

G.Love and Special Sauce
w. special guests
John Bulter Trio,
Tristan Prettyman
Sunday, August 17
5:30pm Gates

Tart, Tangy, Smooth, and oh so lip-smacking Sweet! Aaah yes, time to praise the almighty summer sippin' thirst quencher, being served straight up G. Love and Special Sauce style, ice cool and always refreshing. On their second release for Brushfire Records, the Philly boys offer up "Lemonade", a series of soul drenched tracks pouring out their blues infused hip-hop, which people have been trying to label for years. The best advice - dont try to tame it or claim it; its simply their sonic trademark, instantly recognizable and addictively delicious.

John Butler is many things to many people. To John’s family he is a much loved husband, father, brother, and son. To his ever growing fan base it is purely about the musical journey, the groove of the Trio, the soul of the guitar and the honesty and integrity of John’s lyrics.

George Thorogood & Buddy Guy
Tuesday, August 19
6pm Gates
$40 - $65

A blues-rock guitarist who draws his inspiration from Elmore James, Hound Dog Taylor, and Chuck Berry, George Thorogood never earned much respect from blues purists, but he became a popular favorite in the early '80s through repeated exposure on FM radio and the arena rock circuit. Thorogood's music was always loud, simple, and direct — his riffs and licks were taken straight out of '50s Chicago blues and rock & roll — but his formulaic approach helped him gain a rather large audience in the '80s, when his albums regularly went gold.

He's Chicago's blues king today, ruling his domain just as his idol and mentor Muddy Waters did before him. Yet there was a time, and not all that long ago either, when Buddy Guy couldn't even negotiate a decent record deal. Times sure have changed for the better — Guy's first three albums for Silvertone in the '90s all earned Grammys. Eric Clapton unabashedly calls Buddy Guy his favorite blues axeman, and so do a great many adoring fans worldwide.

The Robert Cray Band & Keb' Mo Band
"Bringin' It Back Home Tour"
Saturday, August 23
5pm Gates
$25 - $45

Robert Cray is one of a precious few active blues artists with the talent and vision to successfully usher the idiom into the future without resorting either to slavish imitation or simply playing rock while passing it off as blues. Just as importantly, his immensely popular records helped immeasurably to jump-start the contemporary blues boom that still holds sway to this day. Blessed with a soulful voice that sometimes recalls '60s great O.V. Wright and a concise lead guitar approach that never wastes a note!

Keb' Mo' draws heavily on the old-fashioned country blues style of Robert Johnson, but keeps his sound contemporary with touches of soul and folksy storytelling. He writes much of his own material and has applied his acoustic, electric, and slide guitar skills to jazz- and rock-oriented bands in the past as well.
